Nissan Joins “Race to Zero” Carbon Neutrality Campaign

Nissan Joins “Race to Zero” Carbon Neutrality Campaign | Toronto, ON

To help combat the effects of climate change, the “Race to Zero” global campaign was created to get leadership and support from businesses, cities, and investors around the world. Nissan recently announced that it would be joining the campaign — making it the first Japanese automaker to do so.

As a requirement for the campaign, a business must also join the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) to ensure that its carbon reduction targets have been validated and align with the latest climate science. Nissan also signed the Business Ambition for 1.5°C commitment, which aims to keep global temperature rise to 1.5° C above pre-industrial levels.

“To accelerate global efforts to achieve carbon neutrality, Nissan will continue to address various issues in a responsible manner, including further promotion of electrification. Also at Nissan we are determined to fulfil our role as a company that will continue to be needed by our stakeholders in the future,” said Nissan President and CEO Makoto Uchida.

That commitment to electrification can be found in the all-new Ariya EV. This stunning electric crossover perfectly represents Nissan Intelligent Mobility™ thanks to the many advanced features and abilities found throughout the vehicle. This includes an expected range of 482 km, ProPILOT Assist 2.0, ProPILOT Park, and an available Heads-Up Display, among many other high-end features.[1]

The all-new Nissan Ariya is expected to arrive soon. In the meantime, contact our team at Avenue Nissan in Toronto, Ontario, for more details.
